wisconsin meet up
spring

invitations

First things first, we are so excited about all the people who volunteered to help us get the Kid’s Clothes Week website going!  Thank you!  Your feedback is going to be really important as we work on this site.  To start, we’re dividing our volunteers into small groups (like 10 people small).  Dorie is getting together the last bits of the Pattern Maker interface this week. We’ll probably have the first helper invites go out next week. Looking forward to it!

Now why is Wisconsin up there? Well, I thought it might be nice to meet up in real life and sew together during KCW. There is small fabric shop in my neighborhood with a little sewing studio above it. It fits about 6-12 people–some sewing, some chatting. I don’t know how many of you live in the Southern Wisconsin area, but consider yourself officially invited if you do:

DATE: Saturday, April 27 & Sunday April 28 sorry, I had to cancel Sunday 🙁

TIME: noon – 3pm

PLACE: Gayfeather Fabrics, 1521 Williamson St  Madison, WI 53703

The shop has a few sewing machines you could use, but it might be better to bring your own. I’ll bring my ironing board and some snacks! If you can come, please leave a comment so I know how many to expect! I’m so excited to meet you!

If you don’t live anywhere near Wisconsin, consider of having a meet up of your own. It’s super fun to sit around sewing and chatting with other ladies! You could even use the KCW Facebook page to find others in your area!

Oh fun! I wish I could, but we’ll be out of the area for a wedding that weekend. It’s going to be my least productive KCW(C) ever.

I think I’m only 11,000 miles away! Maybe next time! 😉 a get together sounds like a great idea though. I think I’ll organise a local one.

oooooh, sewing with Meg is one of my favorite activities. Sadly. tomorrow I am without a sitter. I will sew in solidarity. 🙂

I would love to come sew with you, but my husband freaks out about me going to the basement to sew and leaving him with the kids, going to Wisconsin would land him in the Looney bin 😉 If you are ever in Eastern Canada (like Quebec area) or Northern New York State, I will definately be there!!

Are happy, well-fed, non crawling babies permitted? I say babies, but I’d only bring 1- just enough to distract me
while I cut a pattern. If not, I’ll cut my pattern with you in spirit & plan on coming solo next time around!

I will happily be the baby holder!!

200 blogs a day is not going to support writing a novel, period. It is a life in itself, or perhaps a grand diversion. Good luck writing, and I look forward to reading your occasional posts.
