day one: kcw july 2014

Welcome to day one of Kid’s Clothes Week! I am so excited to see (and sew!) some summery clothes! Shorts, skirts, sundresses! They are all so super fast and fun to sew. So fast in fact, that there are already some finished projects in the project pool! And of course they are super cute:

1. color me happy shorts by Brienne 2. floral summer dress by April 3. twirly skirt by Carla  4. nautical boy shorts by Isabel

Don’t get all pouty, southern hemisphere folks. I know it’s winter there! Every KCW, I look forward to all the projects sewn on the other side of the world, because it’s a little preview for the next season. I am definitely dreaming of fall as the humidity ramps up today.

No matter what hemisphere you live in, you need to put in one hour a day each day for a whole week. Can you do it?! Are you excited? I know KCW is always the kick in the pants I need. Try not to get discouraged by all the finished garments. There are fast sewers and slow sewers out there. I fall into the slow as molasses group, but a little bit of work each day adds up. You can do it!
