day one: kcw feb 2015

Welcome to the winter season of Kid’s Clothes Week! Whether you are just realizing KCW started today or have been prepping and planning for weeks, all you need to do is sit down to sew one hour a day, each day this week. Or sit down and tape PDF patterns together; or sit down and cut out fabric; or sit down and rip out stitches;) Work a little each day and at the end of the week you’ll have made something amazing!

day one: kcw feb 2015

1. upcycled ethereal top by Shino 2. upcycled polka dot dress by Jessica 3. pen’s stripey top by Roxanne 4. recycled aviator pants by Maartje

The theme this season is UPCYCLED. I though you might be excited about the theme, but I didn’t know you would be so super-duper excited! Day one and the upcycling has begun! All the project you see above were once old shirts, pants, dresses, and t-shirts. Do you have plans to upcycle this season?

I was featured on KCW! FEB 2015If your lovely work is featured on the KCW blog during the week (upcycled or not!) , I made a little badge for you. You can put it on your blog, or print it out and hang on your wall! If your garment doesn’t end up on the blog, whatever. It will end up on your kid and that’s what KCW is all about!

I’m pretending that using only stash fabric is upcycling because it’s conserving money and the environment and whatnot. It’s a stretch. But lord knows this girl does not need to buy fabric or even thrifted clothes to cut up. I do really love the theme though! Maybe next time the theme can be “stash fabric” and I’ll be winning so hard. 🙂
