finch sewing studio + giveaway

Today is the last day of giveaway week, but don’t be sad! There is still plenty of time to enter each and every giveaway. Then you can get down to business and starts sewing for KCW! Our last giveaway this season is from a gorgeous shop in Virginia called Finch Sewing Studio. Here is Nicole, the owner, to tell you a bit about it:

We are a boutique sewing + knitting shop with modern fabric, quality yarn, cool tools, and fun, on-trend classes for all ages and interests. We dig handmade. Period. Here on our blog, you can sign up for classes, peruse the latest additions to our stock, and be inspired to take on a new and modern project today!

Finch is located in the beautiful historic district of Leesburg, Virginia. Tara from Girl like the Sea lives quite close and visits often. I asked her a bit about the shop, “Nicole is awesome. She has a great sense of style, and the shop is a mix of modern and vintage.  She carries all high quality fabrics – quilting and a good selection of apparel fabrics. I always find great knits there. Plus the yarn selection is the only good one for miles around. It’s like a destination shop at this point.” Sounds like a makers dream shop!

If you live in the DC area, you should visit and make a day of it! Or better yet, make a Friday night of it. Every Friday, Nicole hosts the Friday Night Sewcial. Chat with other sewers, bring a project and work on their fantastic Bernina machines, and pick up a yard of this and a yard of that while you’re there.

Finch is a super social place. They work hard to provide lots of opportunity for people to interact while doing something creative and fun! In addition to their Friday nights, they offer a huge range of classes: from quilting to knitting to camps for kids and teens. It makes me wish I lived on the East coast again!

For all of us who aren’t lucky enough to live near Finch, we can still shop their stunning fabric collection. Their shop really has a style all its own. Nicole has a great eye and that’s reflected in her fabric selection. There are many prints in her shop I had never seen before and all of them more gorgeous than the one before.

Good luck and Happy KCW!

Just a quick note…the link to the Finch Sewing Studio FB page doesn’t actually go to the page. It gives a “page not available” error. Searching FB found the page immediately, so I think it may just be the link. Thanks for the lovely giveaway!
