The last day of Kid’s Clothes Week is here! Are you covered in bits of thread and fabric? Up to your eyeballs in laundry and dirty dishes? Proud that you carved out a little time each day to sew? I’m guessing the answer is, “yes, all of the above.”

In this world of 2 dollar t-shirts, sitting down to cut, iron, hem, sew our kids’ clothes is a bold act. People who don’t sew may think you are a bit odd, but they don’t know the satisfaction of setting a snap, or the joy of an automatic buttonholer, or having a neckline turn out perfectly, or making clothes that fit your kids bodies and personalities just right. Making time in your life for this creative and revolutionary feet is worthy of much praise. Pat yourselves on the back! You are making gorgeous clothes for your kids and sticking it to the man!

It’s so wonderful to have this KCW community where people don’t think I’m odd for spending my time sewing kid clothes. Head over to the project pool and pat everyone on the back with a comment or two, telling them how amazing their creations are. And if you haven’t uploaded your garments yet, do! I want to feature all the fabulous stuff you made on the big KCW round up post next week.

Seems fitting to end this TOYS! themed week with an actual toy:) This sweet fuzzy bunny makes me eager for spring!
Welcome to day six of Kid’s Clothes Week!

We’re in the home stretch now! You just need to sew that hem, insert that elastic, put those buttons on and you’re done. Or have you gone a little KCW crazy and you are starting another project today? It’s hard not to be inspired by all the amazing sewing going on! I am in love with the prints you are using this season, not to mention all the fabulous freezer stenciling the is going on.

I’ll keep this short, because you have sewing to do! I know the hours are hard to find on the weekend, but they are there–you just have to take them!
Welcome to day five of KCW. You probably have a busy weekend coming up, but don’t stop now! There are still two more days in KCW and you need to find those hours somewhere. I know you can!
1. animal long sleeve by Eva 2. love you leggings by Erin 3. circle sweater by Sew 4. doodle army by Karly
The last steps are always the hardest. I asked on facebook this morning which sewing bits were your least favorite. Buttonholes, hemming, neck binding, these are no one’s best friends. It’s good to know that even the sewers you most admire (and seem to sew no wrong) have things they hate too.
Just because you love sewing doesn’t mean you have to love every single bit of sewing. Sometimes you need to power through the not so fun bits to get to the “look at this amazing thing I made” feeling. This is when KCW saves the day: if you put in your hours this weekend, it’ll all get done!
1. pompom tutu by Jess 2. dollhouse doll dress by Soumya 3. bias stripes by Naii 4. velcro darts game by Stannel
I bet all these sewers are feeling that feeling right about now. There are so many beautiful and playful garments in the project pool: pompoms in your skirt, doodles on your shirt, and a dart board you can wear!! Do you have any favorites so far?
